Amid the Edo time frame, Kanda had formed into an uptown region where nobles and rich agents lived.
Kanda Station (神田 – rice field of the Gods) is a middle of the road station with a sum of 8 stages serving the 山手線, Chuo and けいひんとうほく京浜東北・Keihin-Tohoku lines, and the Tokyo Metro Ginza Subway Line.
On account of it's closeness to the 皇居, Kanda was, from the Edo-period until the 1923 Kanto Earthquake an upscale zone where well off representatives, nobles and samurai made their homes.
After the decimation left by the 地震 and by the bombings of World War II, Kanda lost a lot of its unique character. It is presently the home of numerous skyscraper office structures and a few 大学. The nearest college to Kanda Station is the Tokyo Denki University, a school offering both undergrad, graduate and night courses dedicated totally to 工学.
Destinations, for example, the lovely Kanda Myojin Shrine, and the Tokyo Ressurection Cathedral (home of the Japanese Orthodox Church), are a short ride far from Kanda Station on the 銀座線. Toward the south of Kanda Station is the Tei Park Communication Museum whose shows detail the historical backdrop of correspondence from the begin of the Japanese 郵便局 to cutting edge media communications.
